Nordic Match and SEB hosted the 7th CEO Dinner

Nordic Match, in collaboration with SEB, was pleased to host the 7th CEO Dinner in Beijing and Shanghai, bringing together European CEOs and senior executives for a closed-door dialogue. This year’s discussions were centered around the theme: “In China. For China. With China – Rethinking European Strategies for Long-term Growth.”
Participants engaged in an open and candid exchange on how European companies are redefining their strategies in China. The conversation highlighted the growing importance of localization, not only in operations but also in decision-making, innovation, and organizational structure. It also emphasized the need for long-term commitment in a market that continues to evolve.
It was particularly insightful to hear how companies are approaching the balance between global frameworks and local priorities. While strategies differ across industries, a common thread came up: success in China increasingly depends on building locally relevant models while staying connected to global capabilities.
We were honored to welcome distinguished speakers, including Mats Harborn (Head of TRATON China Office), Jens Eskelund (President of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China; Chief Representative for Greater China and Northeast Asia at A.P. Moller - Maersk), Alain Lefranc (Vice President, Vice President at Atlas Copco, Greater China), and Amit Kakar (Managing Partner, Head of Novo Holdings Asia), who shared valuable perspectives from their respective industries.
At Nordic Match, we continue to observe this shift closely through our work with European and Asian companies. “In China. For China. With China” is increasingly reflected in how strategies are being implemented on the ground, rather than remaining a conceptual discussion.
In this context, our role is to support companies as they navigate practical challenges and opportunities, particularly in cross-border M&A, strategic partnerships, and local execution in China, while helping them stay connected to broader Europe-Asia dynamics.
