On April 9, 2026, Nordic Match Partner Tony Wang was invited to join a livestream interview hosted by the Fudan Finance Union. He spoke with Yu Shiqi, Senior Reporter at China Star Market Daily, engaging in an in-depth discussion on “Nordic Companies Entering the Chinese Market: Opportunities, Strategies, and Practical Insights.”
The discussion covered why Nordic companies are increasingly targeting China, from market scale and supply chain advantages to a strong innovation ecosystem, and which sectors are most active, including industrial technology, clean energy, healthcare, and consumer goods.
A key focus was on the practical side of cross-border M&A, including cultural and negotiation differences, due diligence expectations, valuation alignment, and post-merger integration challenges. The conversation also touched on the current environment and future outlook, along with practical advice for companies and intermediaries working with Nordic capital.
Tony Wang said:
“Successful cross-border M&A depends on robust deal structuring, rational valuation alignment, and strong upfront planning and execution of post-merger integration. As the market becomes more disciplined and professional, greater emphasis is being placed on risk management and execution certainty. At the same time, driven by China’s continued opening and industrial upgrading, attractive cross-border M&A opportunities remain, particularly in areas with long-term strategic synergies such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and healthcare. Cross-cultural management and organizational alignment are also becoming increasingly important, as they directly impact integration efficiency and long-term value creation.”
